Living in Phuket

This is another best part of my Thailand trip. I had an opportunity to Phuket with Nok for her TV show production, the Living In Shape. Nok - Chalida Thoachalee Tantipiphop, my Chicago-native friend, is the former Miss Thailand in 1998. She is a well know celebrity in Thailand in food and health industry, currently running her own show, Living In Shape, on channel 3.

The filming took place at The Heights Phuket. Conceived by renowned architect and founder of HB Design, Hans Brouwer, The Heights Phuket is an inspired contemporary expression designed to complement the site's unique natural environment.

Simple and functional, the interiors are a true fusion of East & West. Large open terraces, expansive living areas, and the seamless spillover of indoor into outdoor spaces, reflect the modern-Asian design of the site.

Nestled atop the hillside above Kata Beach, just a short drive from the white sandy beaches and charming sea-side village of Kata, The Heights Phuket showcases stunning views of the Andaman Sea. The unit price goes around 40 million Baths. I learned there was only 7 units left out of 45.
Foreign Ownership of Property: According to Thai law, foreigners may own 49 percent of the aggregate sellable unit space while the remaining 51 percent must be owned by either Thai nationals or majority owned (51 percent) Thai Companies. Once the 49 percent foreign ownership quota has been achieved, overseas buyers wishing to make a purchase can do so via a Thai company structure.

I found Nok very intelligent and hard working. Besides from hosting her own show, she directs it too.Nok during filming.

I was so happy I got to mingle with Miss Thailand World. She was so sweet. I found Som had that kind of attractive innocently shy personality. I really like her. Look how tall she is standing next to me.

At the end of the day, we enjoyed the beautiful sunset right from the room we were in.

Kanokkorn is current Miss World Thailand 2007. Lovely Kanokkorn lives in Bangkok, the capital city which was established in 1782, a city of culture, historical architecture and skyscrapers. Kanokkorn’s nickname “Som” (Orange) reflects her ‘fresh and tangy outlook’. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and is still studying. She hopes her Miss Thailand career will lead her to television engagements and a career as a news presenter. After winning the title, she has earned considerable modeling experience. Though keen in Pop music, she is skillful in Thai traditional musical instrument, as well as Thai traditional dance. Her sport interests are: Basketball and volleyball. Her favorite dish is Som Tum (green papaya salad) with grilled chicken and sticky rice. Her motto exhorts her to “live life as though this is your last day on earth”.
Som is the youngest daughter of 3 children in the family. She is known to be a shy but tough. She wants to be an MC and international model in the near future. She is currently not dating. Her boy friend’s specification are fair complexion, tall and looks like young Chinese man, especially should have the same personality as her.
