Tia Carrere in Chicago

Tia Carrere in Chicago

Tia Carrere is an American actress, model, and Grammy Award winning singer, perhaps most widely known for her role as Cassandra in the feature films Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 and as Sydney Fox in the TV series Relic Hunter.

Carrere has continued to nurture her singing career. In 1993, her first solo album, Dream, was released, and went platinum in Mexico. That same year, she was featured on the soundtrack of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, performing the ending theme, "I Never Even Told You".

Her second album, Hawaiiana, was released in June 2007 and takes Carrere back to her Hawaiian roots with four-time Grammy Award winning record producer Daniel Ho accompanying her on classic solo slack-key guitar and ukulele. The album was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award under the category Best Hawaiian Music Album. She won a Grammy Award in 2009, again teaming up with Daniel Ho to produce her third album Ikena.

In my opinion, Tia is simply one of the world's most beautiful and sexiest women. When I first saw her in a commercial for "Wayne's World," I was completely overwhelmed by her beauty, with her smooth brown skin and long hair. From an aesthetic and anatomical standpoint, I think she is the perfect woman. Completely flawless from head to toe. Aside from beauty, she is also a talented actress and singer who will only get better and better.

It was my absolute privilege to meet with Tia Carrere and had an opportunity to hold an exclusive "up close and personal" interview/photoshoot with her. Big thanks to Jovie Calma from VIA Times/CPRTV's for your invitation. The meeting was awesome because we got to spend a full 30-minutes in a private room with her. She was very kind and friendly, did not mind me keep taking her pictures.

Tia was so excited when I told her I came from Thailand. She expressed she loved Thai food and had been to Thailand more than a few times. She was able to name a few Thai dishes as well, like Pad Thai and Labb.

Her trip to Chicago this time was to promote her new music album that just had won the Grammy Award 2009 for The Best Hawaiian Music Album.

All pretty hormonal for a Honolulu-born Filipino who went through an all-girls Catholic school with "pimples on my forehead and short hair that didn't cover them." But at the store one day "buying something vile like ground beef," Tia was told by an elderly couple she ought to be in movies. Conveniently, their son was a producer casting bikinis for the surf's-up epic "Aloha Summer". Then came two years as Jade on "General Hospital" and a ride-on in "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man".

"To put it straight up, I didn't think there was anybody who looked like me who could sing like me", says Carrere about auditioning for Wayne's World. " So I pulled out all the stops and gave them "Moon River" in a Chinese accent: "Heart-breaker, dream maker...". Naturally, she won the role - that of the kung-fu-fighting heavy-metal babe who puts the schwing! In megagrosser - because of her great voice.

"He Nani" is Tia's 3rd album. It won Grammy Award 2008.

After meeting with Tia, we went to watch a movie at the Hollywood Palm in Naperville. It was a different experience from other typical theaters. This theater has full to-your-seat food and beverage service including beer, wine & cocktails. The menu had more selections than what I expected and the food was good. I would recommend this theater to anyone.
