The Royal Thai Consulate-General hosted a ceremony for the presentation of the Royal Decoration which had been graciously bestowed by His Majesty King Bhumidol Adulyadej.

The Royal Thai Consulate General would like to announce that His Royal Majesty has bestowed a Royal insignia decoration given by the king to Dr. Panom Puengchardchoofor his work and good deeds as follows.
1. Dr. Panom has helped the Thai community in the United States of America, as one of the founding members of Wat Dhamamram and had a role in maintaining the Temple, always donating his own personal funds to activities at the Temple, such as building classrooms for the students of the temple, living area for the monks. Dr. Panom was also hostedthe InternationalVisakha ceremony in B.E. 2529 (1986) at Wat Dhamaram making the Temple well known to foreigners.
2. Dr. Panom is involved in several activities with heads of other ethnic communities, giving the Thai community a voice in America.Examples for Dr. Panom leadership are host of the Asian American Coalition of Chicago, an active member of the Advisory Council of the Governor. He used these leaderships role to act as a voice to enhance, empower and help find employment not only the Thai Community but also the Asian Community as a whole.
2.ได้มีกิจกรรมร่วมกับชาวต่างชาติอันเป็นผลต่อการยกระดับบทบาทของคนไทยในสังคมอเมริกัน อาทิ เป็นประธานจัดงาน Asian American Coalition of Chicago เป็นสมาชิกของ Advisory Council to the Governor อันเป็นช่องทางให้ได้ช่วยคนไทยและคนเอเชียทั่วไป ได้มีโอกาสในการหางานและการประกอบอาชีพ
3. Dr.Panom has helped Thai people in Thailand by being the President of the Thai-Illinois Project for several years.The main purpose is to create opportunity for underprivileged children.To create opportunity for, by providing them with an opportunity for equal education, to give aid to those who have been victims of natural disasters. In addition, was an active part of the large members of the Thai Community that came together to protest and eventually successfully returned the Vishnu Statue to Thailand in B.E. 2531 (1989).
On this Royal Occasion, the 5th day of December B.E. 2550 (2007) His Royal Majesty did bestow his Royal insignia decoration, given by the King to Dr. Panom Puengchardchoo.

1. Mr. Manoch has helped the Thai community in Thailand, given assistance and established a project in which a group of Thai youth who were born in Thailand from the State of Illinois went to perform Thai Classical Dance in Thailand at the Thai National Theater in Bangkok, and Chaing-Mai, Thailand to raise scholarships and funds teaching aides to teach computers skills to schools in Thailand in B.E. 2546 (2003), B.E. 2548 (2005), and B.E. 2549 (2006).In addition, he assisted in bring Medical equipmentwith the Thai Association, The Thai Nurses Association and other volunteers in the United States of America under the Medical Mission Project for 7 years concurrently.
2. Mr. Manoh has helped the Thai Community in the United States of America, has assisted, given his full cooperation in several activities, such as, in governmental, various associations, projects programs, temples, and educational programs.He was a founder and leader in starting activates in the Thai community.He one of the founding members of the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute in Chicago and is a great advocate in teaching and embracing the Thai Culture , especially in Thai Classical Dance by bring the Royal Thai Dance Troupe from Thailand to perform in Chicago.
3. Mr. Manoh has various affiliations and activities with other groups this has given the him the opportunity to work closely with U.S. Government officials, therefore,acting as a representative for the Thai community since B.E. 2541 (1991) to the present.He has been an active member and board member of the International Ramayana, which is an institution which is made up of the Indian, Indonesian and Thai Community.That comes together to promote and perform the Ramayana every year.
