Thai Office Introduction

The Thai American Association of Illinois

has finally got an office!!!

The building is located on

3260 W. Irving Park, Chicago, IL, 60618.

The office is not yet completed. It’s been recently painted and carpeted. We are looking for donations on multiple office supplies and equipments, such as a computer, a refrigerator, telephones, desks and chairs. Anyone would like to donate such items, please contact ThaiChicagoland@gmail.com. We are also looking for some volunteers to work in the office. Information on days of operation and office hour will be available soon.

This is the premier look of the office space. It is 18' wide and 50' long. We expect to have office furnitures and cubicles to be moved in by the end of May.
The front door has an enclosed area from the street side.

The purpose of the office:

1. Provide consultations about health, laws and family support.
2. Facilitate communications among other organizations, including with the Thai Government in Thailand and other countries.

ด้านบริการเกี่ยวกับการสุขภาพ
- บริการให้คำแนะนำในการรักษาสุขภาพทั่วๆไป โดยแพทย์และพยาบาล
- จักกลุ่มบรรยายความรู้ เกี่ยวกับโรคและการป้องกันที่ควรรู้ เช่น เบาหวาน โรคหัวใจ และ อื่นๆ
- ฝึกสอนเกี่ยวกับการออกกำลังกาย เพื่อสุขภาพ
- จัดหา vaccine ฉีดยาป้องกัน
- จัดหาสถานที่ หรือโรงพยาบาลเพื่อตรวจรักษา
- จัดทำ booklet หรือวารสาร เกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่ควรรู้ด้านสุขภาพ

ด้านบริการผู้สูงอายุ
- จัด program กลุ่มผู้สูงอายุ ส่งเสริมความรู้ เกี่ยวกับการักษา สุขภาพในวัยชรา
- แนะนำ และอบรมเกี่ยวกับการป้องกันอุบัติเหตุ
- จัดบริการ follow up แก่ผู้สูงอายุ ที่มีโรคประจำตัว
- จัดบริการรับส่ง ในรายที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือเป็นรายๆไป

บริการเด็ก
- บริการปรึกษาสุขภาพเด็ก โดย pediatrician
- ให้คำแนะนำและสอนเกี่ยวกับการดูแลเด็กการเจริญเติบโตตามวัย
- จัดกิจกรรมแก่เด็กตามวัย
- ปรึกษาแนะนำ่พ่อแม่ในการดูแลเด็ก

บริการแก่เยาวชน และวัยรุ่น
- มีแพทย์ผู้เชียวชาญให้คำปรืกษาเกี่ยวกับเยาวชน ที่มีปัญหาด้านต่างๆ ทั้งด้านร่างกายและจิตใจ การติดยา หรือเพศศึกษา
- ให้การอบรมและแก้ปัญหา โดยสันติวิธี
- จัดกิจกรรมและ activity ร่วมกัน

บริการด้านกฏหมาย
- มีนักกฏหมายมาให้คำแนะนำ และให้ความช่วยเหลือ และติดต่อในด้านกฏหมายทุกๆด้าน ตามความเหมาะสม

บริการด้านสังคมสงเคราะห์
- จัดหาผู้เชียวชาญมาให้คำแนะนำ ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการขอความช่วยเหลือ จากรัฐบาลสหรัฐอเมริกา ทั้งด้านครอบครัว หรือค่าใช้จ่ายการ- ตรวจรักษา และด้านอื่นๆ ตามความเหมาะสม เป็นรายๆไป

บริการด้านความรู้เกี่ยวกับการประกันทุกด้าน
- โดยมีผู้เชียวชาญ และความรู้ด้านนี้มาให้คำแนะนำ

How do we get an office space?
How much does it cost to have our office?

To own an office space for a business or an organization costs a lot of money, not to mention about other expenses such as maintenance and office supplies. As we all know that the Thai Association is a non-profit organization. That means we do not have large amount of money. And how do we get to have our office space??? I personally find this story very touching.

The office space is donated by a Thai couple, Khun Jamnong and Khun Chantipa Limson. They both are successful business owner of the " Rainbow School Day Care" on the north side of Chicago. The school building has an empty office space that the couple decided to lease it to the Thai Association at FREE OF CHARGE!!!
I find this is an absolute charity that is hard to find these days.
Their willingness in giving is tremendous. The contribution will greatly impact our Thai Community in many ways.
On behalf of the Thai Association, I would like to give a sincere thank to Mr. and Mrs. Limson, which whom we call P'Jamnong and P'Chan. What you have done means so much to our Thai Community in Chicago.

P'Jamnong and P'Chan both are teachers. They met and got married in Thailand, then moved to USA to pursue education in PhD. They are blessed with 2 children, one boy and one girl. The children are now grown - Kopong Limson 27 y/o and Nongtipa Limson 18 y/0.

Below are pictures of the Rainbow School Day Care. They accept children from between the ages of 1 to 6 years old. The school has a full day kindergarten with various class sizes.
