Congratulations to Khun Poxie Xumsai
for his Community Service Award
Poxie Xumsai is an Information Technology Professional with 25 years plus of experience. He is currently a Delivery Engagement Manager with IBM global services and Immediate Past President of Thai American Association of Illinois. As a boy in Thailand, Poxie generously volunteered his time for the good of the community by working with the local government and non-profit organizations.for his Community Service Award
Poxie carried a law degree from Thammasart University, Thailand and came to the United States 30 years ago for his future education. He received a Master Degree in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University.
After Receiving his Masters Degree, he went back to school for Computer Science. He is married to a Top Real Estate Broker and owner of Century 21 S.G.R., Nancy (Suvarnamani) Xumsai. They currently live in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
Poxie has been involved in and volunteered for the Asian American Coalition of Chicago Lunar New Year Celebration since 2002. He generously donates money and devotes his time serving various committees and organizations. He had served as a Vice President of Thai American Association of Illinois for 4 years (2002-2005)
During the past 2 years as president of the Thai American Association, he has created a good relationship among the organizations in and outside of the Thai Community. This work has improved visibility and reputation of the Thai community. There are several examples of his good work as a volunteer, such as to raise money for the flood victims in Thailand, and the annual Health Fair which has over 400 participants each year.
He is also a member of the Secretary of Stat Jesse White Asian Pacific American Advisory Council and continues to serve on the Board of Director of the Thai American Association from 2008-2011.

Jan Jeffcoat joined Fox's Chicago's morning news team as 6 am - 9 am anchor "Good Day Chicago" in June 2007. Jeffcoat came to Chicago from Houston, Texas, where she was a morning anchor for Fox 26 Morning News from 5-9 am since 2004.
Nancy Loo is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brings a world of experience to Fox news Chicago. Loo joined WFLD-TV in 2001 and currently anchors "Good Day Chicago" at 5 am.
Joanie Lum joined CBS 2 Chicago as a general assignment reporter in Oct 2003, from WGN-TV. She was best known as WGN for her "Around Town" segments on Channel 9's morning news.
Mai Martinez was promoted to co-anchor of CBS 2's weekend evening newscasts in September 2007, and she serves as general assignment reporter during the week. Her work during the breaking news coverage of the Blue Line derailment in the summer of 2006 helped CBS 2 win a local Emmy Award for Spot News.
Linda Ye co-anchors ABC 7's 11 am and 4 pm newscasts. She joined ABC 7 Chicago in 1984. In April 2005, Yu was inducted into the prestigious "Silver Circle" of legendary Chicago broadcasters. During her career in Chicago, Yu has earned 5 local Emmy awards. Most recently, her 2006 news special, "Chicago's Road to China" won an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement for News Speicals Not in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast.
Timothy C. Evans serves as the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, the largest of the 22 judicial circuits in Illinois and also one of the largest unified court systems in the world. More than 1.2 million cases are filed annually in the Circuit Court of Cook County, which serves Cook Country's 5.1 million residents. Chief Judge Evans oversees the circuit's approximately 400 judges whom he assigns throughout the court's eight divisions and six geographic districts. He also oversees an annual budget of $166.4 million, and more than 2700 employees who work in 13 non-judicial offices providing probation and other court-related services.

Tanya Pardungkiattisak is 18 years old and a freshman at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with major in Education. Her parents are Suttisak and Busaba Pardungkiattisak. She believes that knowing family roots and traditions is essential in determining who we are. Knowing that her parents are immigrants who managed to find success fuels her drive to become successful just like them. She strives to be well-cultured and being a female minority makes her very open and tolerant to others' traditions, customs and religions.
