Boon Rawd Brewery, the fist brewery in Thailand, was set up in 1933 by Boodrawd Srethaputra, who was later bestowed the aristocratic title of Phya Bhirom Phakdi by His Majesty King Prajadhipok (Rama VII). Singha beer became the first beer to be brewed by a Thai, and is now considered a nation's heritage as well as a family's pride. Boon Rawd Brewery is still privately owned, with majority shares being owned by the founding family.
Singha Beer was introduced internationally in the 1970s. With Thailand a main tourist destination, Singha, the beer that has since become synonymous with Thailand, is now more sought after around the world. Its rich taste and exotic feel perfectly compliments the spicy Thai food, as well as many other cuisine. Alone, it can also be refreshingly unique - a taste preferred by hard-core drinkers everywhere.
With the increasing demand around the world, Boon Rawd Trading International Co., Ltd was set up in 2001 to oversee the international market. Singha Beer is now available in nearly 50 countries worldwide, served in Thai restaurants, as well as other notable eateries, pubs and bars, where premium quality drinks are concerned. The best selling Thai sexy beer, Leo, is also now available outside Thailand at selected destinations.
